Time for Spring "Hibernating"

Time for Spring "Hibernating"

Hello!

It's day 2 of my family's self-imposed 14-day quarantine. I've been busy putting away some lingering past holiday decor. A few plaid items were hanging around as well as some pumpkins on the patio that, luckily, were within easy reach in the drizzly, slow rain we're having today.

My friends have called this a stay-cation and have also likened it to having the family home for the holidays. So true. In times like these you just want your loved ones close and you become more mindful of things you have taken for granted.

I have been decorating for Spring for a good month or so at the shop, but hadn't been in the mood here at home. The longer days that follow daylight savings time is usually a good time to kick me into gear for Spring decorating, but there has been so much going on, I have been procrastinating.

So, no more procrastinating. Today's the day! I brought out some of my favorite lemons, spring florals and bunnies, and armed with these soldiers of spring, I'm going to do a little countertop and tabletop refreshing!

Winter was so long this year it seems like the outside should be further along than it really is.  I've seen a few daffodils poking up, but getting out the permanent stems reminded me that we have Rosebuds, Forsythia, Tulips, Dogwoods and Magnolias to look forward to!  The Corona Virus isn't going to stop that from happening!

My favorite color, especially in Spring, is yellow. It's such a happy, hopeful color, and it goes with nearly everything! My home has a very neutral palette, so all of the grays and blacks are the perfect foil for yellow to really pop and really shout out its positivity.

I'd love to know how you welcome spring into your home, or what you're doing while on your stay-cation. I hope you are taking precautions, stocked with provisions, and are near to those you love.
